Seattle is a city located in the east portion of Washington State in North West United States. The city is flanked by the waters of the Lake Washington and Puget Sound. The city came into the limelight quite a bit in the 1990′s as USA’s city of the nineties. The city has an appealing ambience.
The waterfront of Seattle is the main attraction of the city. This is located along the Alaskan way. The city has a host of sights, attractions and things to do for its visitors. There are a great number of excellent options for entertainment, shopping, dining and more. Seattle has a huge number of art galleries, museums, gourmet coffee shops. This is in addition to a pulsating nightlife scene.
The Space Needle is an attraction that is iconic to Seattle. The building stands at a towering height of more than 490 feet or 150 meters, and dominates the skyline of the city. The view from the top of the Space Needle is simply breathtaking.
The huge number of city museums, such as the Seattle Art Museum (SAM), Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, the Science Fiction Museum and the Museum of History and Industry. These offer fascinating insights into the history of the city, as well as its time as an industrial city.
There are a number of historical regions that are part of Seattle, such as the University districts, SODO, Queen Anne, Pioneer Square, Greenlake, Fremont, Pike Place Market, Capitol Hill, Belltown and Ballard.
Seattle is also home to a huge expanse of parklands. This includes the Washington Park Arboretum, Green Lake Park, Freeway Park and the Discovery Park.
Other major attractions in Seattle are inclusive of the Seattle Center, the Seahawks Exhibition Center, Safeco Field Stadium, Hing Hay Park, the Smith Tower Observation Deck, Fisherman’s Terminal, Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and the Boeing Factory.
